We are celebrating the 1-year anniversary of our Metta Circle! We met on Insta LIVE for the month of April 2020, and went on to meet weekly since then. Many of us got through the pandemic with grace because of this practice. We invite you to please join us to mark this day!

About the Event

Metta or Maitri is a loving kindness practice that comes from Buddhist traditions, but is suitable for people of all faiths and belief systems. It is the practice of extending true compassion and loving kindness for all living  beings. We start with ourselves, and keep expanding our circles to include our loved ones, our acquaintances, people we find difficult, and eventually the whole world. 

Benefits of practicing Metta Meditation:

1. Decrease in self-criticsm, better relationship with oneself

2. Improves mood and ability to connect with others socially

3. Equips one to cope better with chronic pain

4. Activates empathy and emotional processing centres in the brain

5. Makes you a more helpful and compassionate person

6. Reduces the implicit biases we may have in relation to others

This meditation has great benefits even when practiced sporadically. Consistent practice has long-term impact.
